he John Pemberton Fund has raised its automobile travel reimbursement rate to $0.325 per mile, making it consistent with PYM's reimbursement rate for volunteers and staff.
The Pemberton Fund makes grants to help PYM Friends traveling in religious service, including attendance at Yearly Meeting sessions and travel on behalf of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting. For guidelines and information, contact PYM Grant Coordinator Carol Walz at 215-241-7201 or carolw@pym.org.
The John Pemberton Fund is the result of a gift to the Yearly Meeting in 1795 of land to pasture the horses of Friends attending Annual Sessions and participating in other Quarterly and Yearly Meeting business. Eventually, the land was sold, and a fund set up to distribute income for the same or like purposes.
