he PYM Women's Gathering Group is sponsoring a spring gathering April 28-30 at the Burlington Meeting House Conference Center (NJ). Come and experience a dynamic Quaker women's community. Our theme this year is "Stories: Women of the Bible and Us" with program leader Helene Pollock. All ages are welcome!
We will be sharing stories stories of our lives, stories of our experiences and struggles with the Divine. We will be open to hearing the stories of others from the people around us and from the women of ancient times who speak to us through the Bible. As we explore the Bible, we will use the Quakerly approach of seeking to be grounded in the Spirit that gave forth the text.
Becky Rutherford will help us express ourselves through color in the workshop Painting in Response to Scripture. While we continue the women's gathering tradition of Afghan-making for a homeless shelter, Annie Blood-Patterson will lead us in group song. Other activities may include yoga, tai chi, walks, Bible study, and journal writing. Ample free time is scheduled for the cross-inspiration and spontaneous creativity that grow in the womb of community.
We will begin with a potluck dinner and thereafter enjoy the vegetarian cooking of Cheryl Kratz. The cost is $60 for those who register by April 10 and $65 afterward. Registrations will be welcomed up until the start of the gathering, but as space is limited it might be wise to call ahead. Child care is available.
For information or to register, phone Dora Martinez-Armstrong at 215-887-3790 or email armstrong_folks@msn.com.
