The Quaker School at Horsham
The Quaker School at Horsham, a Friends elementary school for children who learn differently, seeks head of school to begin July 2000. The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership capabilities, excellent communications skills, and a thorough familiarity with Friends' beliefs and testimonies. Counselors and support staff
Camp Onas, Bucks County, Pennsylvania
Camp Onas, the Quaker camp in Bucks County, is seeking counselors over 18 years old for the 8-week summer residential program. Also needed are individuals over 21 with wilderness camping and canoeing experience to lead four-day wilderness trips.
Cook and nurse positions are available for either 4 or 8 weeks. Opportunity for individuals with camp-age children to work for four weeks while their children attend Camp Onas.

Middle school assistant
Philadelphia Yearly Meeting
Philadelphia Yearly Meeting is seeking a person to assist the Middle School Friends Program Coordinator in planning, implementing and supervising Middle School events. The part-time position, to begin April 15, is on an as-needed basis, approximately 220 hours annually, mostly at MS events, divided among four weekend-long gatherings and a 5-day residential Yearly Meeting gathering. We expect that the successful candidate will be a high school graduate; a college degree or equivalent experience is helpful. The new Middle School Assistant should have the following qualifications:
- relates well to emerging adolescents
- has an understanding of Quaker principles and supports Friends practices
- has good organizational and behavioral management skills
- can work well with adult volunteers and middle school youth
Definite plusses: games leading, crafts, musical talent.
Salary is between $10 and $13 per hour depending on education and experience. Director(s) of youth programming
Powell House
Powell House is seeking a person or a couple who are members of the Religious Society of Friends to serve as leaders of the Youth Program. The applicants are responsible for the spiritual and administrative work required to plan and lead 20 or more youth conferences each year. Compensation includes salary, housing, some meals, and a complete benefit package. Powell House is the conference and retreat center of New York Yearly Meeting, located about 25 miles east of Albany.
