owanda Meeting in Northeast Pennsylvania sponsored a "Stop the Hate" vigil October 7 at the Bradford County Courthouse. More than 70 people attended, exceeding organizers' expectations. The event was one of about 500 sponsored nationally by the Interfaith Alliance and the Fellowship of Reconciliation.
Children from Barclay Friends School in Towanda provided posters that were displayed at the vigil, and children decorated the sidewalk with colorful chalk drawings, according to an article in The Review newspaper.
National Stop the Hate Day is a witness against "hate crimes" directed at minority groups.
