International Volunteer Day. Since 1985, the United Nations has designated
December 5 for the celebration of volunteers by communities, peoples and
governments around the world. Philadelphia Yearly Meeting thanks the many
volunteer committee members and project participants who make our services
possible. The Religious Society of Friends depends on volunteers.
