Implementation Committee Meeting, April 12

So much has happened in the past two weeks! Lane Taylor has been named and approved by Interim Meeting as the Clerk of the Quaker Life Committee, our first concrete step towards implementation of the new structure. In addition, Saturday, November 7, 2015 was announced as our first Continuing Sessions gathering at Westtown School.

This week, members of the Implementation Committee will hold a conference call with Clerks of current Standing Committees to discuss the transition to the new structure. A letter outlining this process of laying down all Standing Committees and Working Groups by September 30, 2015 will be sent to their respective Clerks. To insure that our important work continues, each Working Group and Standing Committee will be asked to send a one to two-page summary of their work and any outstanding tasks that will not be completed by the September 30th deadline. These summaries will be passed on to the two Councils to aid in their discernment of future work. The Implementation Committee has now turned its attention to the various ways that Friends can carry forth their leadings with Friends from across the Yearly Meeting. Those pathways will be shared with all as soon as clarity has been reached.

The letter sent to committees and working groups is posted in the news section of the Implementation Committee’s webpages.
