PYM Care and Aging Program

The Care and Aging Program provides pastoral care support and practical guidance to individuals, families and Meetings in the manner of Friends and in a way which nurtures the whole person on his or her life journey.

The Care and Aging Program  is coordinated by George Schaefer, a licensed social worker, whose work is to:

  •      Support Meetings to respond to the needs of Friends in the Yearly Meeting who are       facing challenges
  •      Provide assessments, referral services and interventions for Meeting members who may be at risk
  •      Coordinate requests for grants from the PYM granting groups serving older adult Friends
  •       Support Monthly Meetings in spiritual care and nurturing of the Meeting Community.
