Access to Social Worker Services Extended
PYM NEWS: For the past year, individual Meetings and members of PYM have been turning to the services of a licensed Social Worker for help in solving difficult health, social, and financial problems. The Yearly Meeting program Care and Counsel for Meetings and Members offers these services thanks to funding from Bequests Granting Group that has now been extended through November 1, 2008.

Meetings Can Get 200 Free PYM Pamphlets
PYM NEWS: In January, each Monthly Meeting clerk will receive a flyer advertising an offer from PYM Publications Service Group for up to 200 free pamphlets per Meeting, thanks to special PYM publications funds.

Friends Hospice Opens in Philadelphia
PYM NEWS: Amidst great joy, Friends Hospice of Philadelphia began hospice services on October 1. While concentrating initially on north and west Philadelphia neighborhoods, the hospice will serve the whole city and its immediate surroundings.

PYM NEWS: The Quaker Tapestry Exhibit comprises full-size photographs of 12 selected panels from the 77 assembled by the Quaker Tapestry Scheme located in Kendal, Cumbria, England.

Richland's 'Food For Friends' Serves Respect
PYM NEWS: Food For Friends had its start nine years ago when Mary Miller, an attender at Richland Meeting, approached Richland Friends with a leading. In previous times there had been an active monthly “soup kitchen” in Quakertown, but it had been forced to stop operating because the premises used had been sold.

PYM NEWS: Quakers in our Yearly Meeting are involved in developing permanent solutions to the problems of the most vulnerable members of society in our own neighborhoods, homeless women with children.
