Interim Meeting
Interim Meeting is responsible for conducting the business of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting between annual sessions. Its basic structure, functions, and responsibilities are outlined in Faith and Practice.
Meetings are held in April, May, June, September, October, November, January, and February at Fourth and Arch Street Meetinghouse on a Thursday evening. Most of the members of Interim Meeting are appointed by the Monthly Meetings, with three additional at-large members appointed by the Yearly Meeting and several ex-officio members. All of the meetings of Interim Meeting are open to Friends and attenders of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting and visitors from Quaker bodies.
At times the clerk of Interim Meeting is charged by the Meeting with sending minutes or other correspondence to Monthly Meetings, Quarterly Meetings, other Yearly Meetings, and government officials and representatives. Clicking on the date links below will bring up pages where you can read the contents of that correspondence.Other relevent material is also posted at the request of the clerk or the body of the Meeting.
