PYM Standing Committees

PYM needs you! There is great work being done by our Yearly Meeting working groups. But we always need people to serve as adminstrators of that work. This requires special gifts of time and experience. But the rewards are great. There is a process that the Nominating Committee goes through to find people for standing committees. You must be a member of a Monthly Meeting in Philadelphia Yearly Meeting and have experience with Quaker discernment practices. Though you might not be asked to serve on a standing committee, the Nominating Committee might suggest you join one of our many working groups.

Accepting appointment to the standing committees is a commitment to oversee the work that is done under the care of that standing committee and each one needs Friends with gifts of administration, finance, naming, evaluation, as well as in interest in building relationships between the standing committee and its working groups. Another important aspect of their work is to relate to affiliated and external organizations such as FGC, FCNL, AFSC, FWCC, Peace Teams, Quaker Information Center, etc.
