Standing Committee work:
is essential to the work of the Yearly Meeting
requires patience, discernment, and a dedication to Quaker faith and values.
requires agreement with the basic mission of the Standing Committee process (refer to Roles and Responsibilities excerpt in Nominating Committee Handbook under Standing Committees)
requires administrative work (refer to Authority and Accountability Outline in Nominating Committee Handbook)
requires a comfort level with handling oversight situations.
normally lasts for a term of three years (vacancies usually need to be filled and panels are sometimes assigned at time of appointment)
precludes serving on Working Groups under the overseeing Standing Committees care. (does not apply to affiliated organizations like FWCC, FGC, etc.)
