Standing Committee work:


• is essential to the work of the Yearly Meeting

• requires patience, discernment, and a dedication to Quaker faith and values.

• requires agreement with the basic mission of the Standing Committee process
(refer to Roles and Responsibilities excerpt in Nominating Committee Handbook under Standing Committees)

• requires administrative work
(refer to Authority and Accountability Outline in Nominating Committee Handbook)

• requires a comfort level with handling oversight situations.

• normally lasts for a term of three years
(vacancies usually need to be filled and panels are sometimes assigned at time of appointment)

• precludes serving on Working Groups under the overseeing Standing Committee’s care.
(does not apply to affiliated organizations like FWCC, FGC, etc.)
