Elklands Meeting lies beyond World's End Park, and when you go there, you believe that you have slipped beyond the end of the world. This meeting tells us something about the determination of early Quaker settlers to make a place for themselves and it still holds together mostly by pluck. From Rt. 220 up the Muncy Valley take Rt. 42 toward Eagles Mere but turn off on the road to World's End and Forksville. At Forksville take 154 up up hill and down for 10 miles and watch for the small building up in a field on your right. There is a sign.
Elkland meetinghouse is not much bigger than many living rooms and is divided in the old-fashioned manner into two rooms for men's and women's meetings for business (planned so that women could take leadership on their own). There is a stove for heat, a porch for visiting, and a magnificent view. This meeting is held together by Ed and Dorothy Rexer who really welcome company. But come in summer or fall. Meeting does not hold in winter.
