Friends Home has its first bus! Now that it has arrived (see photos!), living well and going places perfectly describes life at Friends Home in Kennett.
The bus, specially designed and built by Wolfington Body Company of Exton, seats 14, and was delivered on January 16. It has the necessary equipment to accommodate both walkers and wheelchairs as needed.
Christine McDonald, Executive Director, says that the Home is delighted to offer this new feature to its residents. Previously, we used ROVER Community Transportation. While a useful service, ROVER had restrictions on times and days.
Now, trips can be planned for whatever times and days are most convenient for the residents, and to whatever destinations they wish.
“Friends Home in Kennett has a bright future,” said McDonald. “We have important projects planned and underway, and I hope our friends and neighbors will come by so I can show them how we are planning for our future here.”
