Join the Quaker Stories Video Project

Volunteering

The Quaker Stories Video Project  provides a means for Philadelphia Yearly Meeting Friends to talk about, listen to and record one another’s stories of our spiritual journeys, and to collect and share these stories online and in a video library.

To be a Quaker is to be a sojourner, a seeker committed to the path of spiritual deepening and awakening. Our openness to the leadings and truth of each person often makes our individual journeys unique and varied. As Friends on this journey together, we are strengthened by listening to one another’s stories and discovering how these journeys have shaped our understanding of Truth.

A Story Kit and Video-Making Manual provide a template and means to share and record stories from Friends in your Monthly Meetings and other Friendly groups. It is beginner-friendly and includes the tools needed to video record individual Friends’telling their stories so they can be shared throughout the Philadelphia community and beyond. It is a way to build community through storytelling, talking with one another about the presence of Spirit in our lives, and a way to communicate the richness and diversity of Quakers’ spiritual lives.
