Samuel T. Jeanes Fund

ESTABLISHED:
The Samuel T. Jeanes Fund for Meetinghouse Purposes was established as a restricted deed of trust from Anna T. Jeanes his sister in 1899 “to aid in assisting Quarterly and Monthly Meetings and isolated members of restricted means in the repair and construction of meetinghouses for Friends.”

PROJECTS:
The fund is intended to meet those unusual or unexpected expenses that active Monthly Meetings within Philadelphia Yearly Meeting have been unable to budget for. The committee carefully reviews need and amount of money available. Small meetings with big property and limited funds are in greater need.

STEWARDSHIP:
In 2016, care of grants made from the Samuel T. Jeanes Fund for Meetinghouse Purposes was transferred to the Quaker Buildings and Programs Granting Group.
