Listening for Spirit: Answers Waiting for Action
The evening of PYM Spring Continuing Sessions, Young Adult Friends invite everyone to the Seeking Faithfulness Series, for an evening of music, connections, dialogue, and inspiration with the duo City Love – Sterling Duns and Caselli Jordan!
Come out for a night of music, dialogue, and creativity. City Love will share some songs to help us put our heads and hearts together and make sense of how we got here. When the youth, the elders, and everyone in between listen for spirit and share what they’ve heard, we will be clear on where we’ve been and what action we need to take to get where we’re trying to go. Come listen. Come share. Come nourish your hope and gain clarity on how you will take action and make change in these times.
About the Seeking Faithfulness series
The Seeking Faithfulness series is an annual event hosted by the Young Adult Friends of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting for the benefit of the whole yearly meeting community. Young Adult Friends invite a Friend to challenge us all to explore new ways to practice our Quaker faith. The Seeking Faithfulness series seeks to nourish our spiritual lives and call us to faithful witness in our communities and throughout the world.
The Seeking Faithfulness series was established by young adult Friends as the William Penn Lecture Series in 1916, which historically invited a lecturer to engage with high-school aged Friends and above. The Young Adult Friends community invites a planning committee to consider the format and style of the Seeking Faithfulness series including age and other qualities of the intended audience as it envisions the event anew each year.
About City Love
City Love, Sterling Duns and Caselli Jordan, are a conscious West Philly acoustic duo with harmonies, hip hop, cajon, guitar, and mandolin. From the heart. For the people. We are educators and musicians who write songs to spread the love, make people move, make people laugh, and foster dialogue about the issues of our times. Our music is a meeting point between the city and the suburbs; between black and white; heavy and light. We want to bring people together and work to help heal the racial divide in our country. We synthesize the power of music and deep conversation to reach audiences in ways that dialogue alone often cannot.
