YAF Pub Theology [what next?]

November 17, 2016 @ 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm America/New York Timezone

Elizabeth Piersol Schmidt, Young Adult Friends Coordinator

Young Adult Friends (age 18-35-ish) are invited to get together and talk about our spiritual lives and responses to the election. We’ll meet at Strangelove’s, an all ages bar/restaurant.

We’ve had our next Young Adult Friends (Quakers and friends-of-Friends age 18-35-ish) Pub Theology scheduled for a few months. Trevor, Lane and I had been bopping around theme ideas for a few weeks, but then the election happened.

So, what next? Where do our love, anger, confusion, sadness, or even our hatred lead us? How do we fight fiercely against the hatred and danger that is being unleashed? How do we support one another in action?

We’ll be talking about this, and more. Many of you do powerful work for change in the world, and/or are looking to get more involved, and I’d love for us to have more opportunities to learn about what one another is working on. (Maybe that’s this event, or maybe that’s another time.)

Expect meeting/reconnecting with excellent people.

As at all Young Adult Friends events the YAF Guidelines are in effect, as is the the YAF policy on alcohol use.  We will be at an all-ages venue, with food and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage options.  Friends who are underage are welcome to attend, but are expected not to consume alcohol. (YAFs who choose not to consume alcohol are also welcome!)
