Seventh Month, 2002

Dear young Friends everywhere,

NCYM-C young Friends met at Chowan College on the Seventh Month 10-14,

2002. We had seven people all together to attend. We did collection for the first four days, which is the last of Friends for the night of entertainment by such groups as young Friends, Ministry and Oversight, etc. The first day consisted of going canoeing and that night was decided to make up two new verses for the George Fox song. The second day went on talking to a man named Bill who visited jail every Wednesday to have a gathering with the jail-mates and that night we played the game "What are you doing?" The third day we talked to Sally about the world, nature and its right and wrong points. We talked to Chuck Fager about his books, and read them, and he told us about his life and that night consisted of making a modern day play of " The Unforgiving Debtor" (Matthew 18:21-35). The fourth day we did service at Cedar Grove, cleaning the cemetery after we talked to a lady named Barbara Luetke-Stahlman about George Fox and many other people. After that we talked to Eddie about his experience about jail and getting out. That night we had to teach everyone the song "When Jesus Wept" in rounds. The fifth day went on about the week's topic, forgiveness, in Bible study. We then had a business meeting, then a lunch while we said our good-byes to others. So now we shall say our good-bye to you! In God's love!

Sincerely, NCYM-C Youth Friends Laura Brown
