Friends Foundation for the Aging (FFA), a non-profit, private foundation is seeking applicants for the Executive Director position. The foundation is a Quaker organization founded to support and promote high-quality programs for older adults that enhance their quality of life and foster independence, respect, dignity and security within a framework of Quaker values.
The Foundation has approximately 12.8 million dollars in assets, the annual income from which is used to fund these special initiatives. The annual income is approximately $750,000 from which grants are funded and the foundation expenses are paid. During the past ten years, the Foundation has made grants of approximately four million dollars to a variety of programs. The Foundation seeks to fund initiatives that are innovative, sustainable and replicable.
The Foundation has no offices or headquarters, allowing the successful candidate to work from home. The half-time position provides flexibility and a competitive salary.
The successful candidate will be comfortable with Quaker principles and business practice and will support the Board in their efforts to identify, cultivate and fund worthy programs and projects. The Executive Director candidate should possess a Master’s degree and have ten years of experience. He or she must have a keen understanding of the field of aging, experience in working with a Board, and seasoned financial acumen. The candidate must be able to self-manage and work independently, while working in collaboration and partnership with grantees to assure their success.
