Content: Includes lessons on the first part of The Life of Jesus: The Gifts of the Magi, Jesus as a Boy, The Baptism of Jesus, Jesus in the Wilderness, The Calling and Mission of the Disciples, and The Parables of the Mustard Seed. There is an introductory chapter on How to Teach Children about Jesus.
Age Range: 6 - 12 years.
Preparation Time: Time needed to review the whole curriculum, then 30 minutes weekly for preparation.
Number of Lessons: There are seven lessons which could take seven or more weeks. Gifts of the Magi is a good lesson to do around Christmas.
Activities: These include discussion questions, games, writing your own parables, role plays, collages, cooking, planting, songs, painting, and other crafts.
Supplies/Equipment: A Bible to read or tell a story from and a Bible atlas, if possible. Each craft activity has its own list of materials. Many of the books listed are available at the PYM library.
