Children's Religious Education Programs

Dr. Seuss for First-day Schools

Content: A collection of lessons based on Dr. Seuss stories and related to a Quaker theme and/or testimony.

Age Range: Ages 6-12, but can be adapted to older or younger children.

Preparation Time: 30 minutes to collect materials, try out a craft, or read over the story.

Number of Lessons: The lessons cover 18 Dr. Seuss stories, each of which could take one or two weeks.

Activities: These include discussion questions, games, crafts, and easy cooking projects.

Supplies/Equipment: The curriculum contains an excellent resource list with related Bible or Quaker stories and songs from Songs of the Spirit.
