Financial Aid for Quaker Children at PYM Friends Schools

The Committee on Friends Education and the Friends Education Fund are working towards the goal of bringing a Friends education within affordability for all Quaker families in PYM who seek it. In 2006-07, there are 375 Quaker children from 73 Monthly Meetings and all 13 Quarters receiving financial aid from Philadelphia Yearly Meeting.

“[We seek]...to ensure that no Philadelphia Yearly Meeting family seeking an education in a Philadelphia Yearly Meeting Friends School for their child be denied that opportunity for financial reason."

Mary Jeanes Loans and Anne Townsend Grants. Mary Jeanes loans and Anne Townsend grants are available for post-secondary students. The Mary Jeanes loan is an interest-free loan to Quaker students. Anne Townsend grants are awarded to students that are pursuing a vocational education.
The deadline for applications is May 1st, 2009.
