Faith & Play Working Group of the Children's Spiritual Life Committee

The Faith & Play Working Group is comprised of Friends who are trained in and use the Godly Play® storytelling method in their religious education work, and have been inspired to create stories of Quaker faith and witness using this unique approach. The group grew out of a PYM-sponsored Godly Play® training in 2005, and has members from PYM, Baltimore YM and New England YM. The group meets several times a year to share and develop stories; it is hoped that the first several Faith & Play stories will be published in 2008, as a Quaker companion to Godly Play® stories.

Godly Play® Teacher Accreditation Event

There are a lot of things you can learn from a lecture, but Godly Play has to be learned from the inside out. This accredited teacher training even will enable that to happen. You will experience Godly Play stories as both teacher adn learner and have the chance to analyze them with your peers in a collegial, non-judgemental setting. you will learn how to build the Godly Play classroom and strengthen your classroom management skills. you will deepen your understanding of children's spiriutality. Each activity takes place in a prayerful atmosphere of give and take with talented, creative Teacher Trainers. You will improve your teaching skills, achieve greater clarity about the foundation of Godly Play and leave spiritually refreshed.
