Junior Interim Meeting: Middle School Junior Friendly Presences
What is Junior Interim Meeting?
Junior Interim Meeting is an opportunity for PYM’s children to take part in God’s Big Idea- as discerned by them. It builds on the Children’s Priority, a calling that the children of PYM hear as a group and addressed with Quaker business methods.
When is it?
Junior Interim Meeting is held concurrently with (Adult) Interim Meeting, on the second Saturdays of 8 months of the year- September, October, November, January, February, April, May, and June- from 9:30am-1:30pm.
6-8th graders have the role of Junior Friendly Presences (or JFPs) at Junior Interim Meeting (JIM).
They are specially tasked and supported in their role as facilitators and guides of the K-5 Friends. They have a chance to be part of the planning and execution of the day, thereby developing responsibility, listening, and leadership skills. We encourage them to support the youngest Friends, the staff and volunteers as needed. JFPs ROCK!
If you're a Middle School Friend interested in being a JFP, please contact Ben Camp at 215-241-7228 or Benc@pym.org!
