The School of the Spirit Ministry

"A Ministry of Prayer and Learning devoted to the School of the Spirit" is dedicated to helping all who wish to be more faithful listeners and responders to the inward work of Christ. For 20 years this Ministry has been instrumental in transforming the lives of individual Friends, revitalizing meetings, and assisting in the renewal of the Religious Society of Friends.

The Work

• On Being a Spiritual Nurturer: a two-year program, which gathered its eighth class from across the US and Canada and began this September. Nurturers help persons follow a path of deepening relationship with God.
• The Way of Ministry: a one-year program, a second class to begin in late 2010, for those already having a named call to ministry.
• Silent Retreats: currently scheduled at Powell House every January and June.
• By participating in one of our programs, Friends respond to God's yearning for us to live transformed lives. Participation in one of our extended programs is by application only.
• Friends may also support this Ministry through service on the Worship and Care Committee.
