The Charge

We are a diverse group of Friends who feel called to address the effects of racism in our own lives, committed to learn from and to support each other, aware that our Meeting communities often do not yet reflect the diversity of our families, neighborhoods and towns.

Our work is all about the grounding of our Friends  spiritual life in awareness of how our history and patterns impact our ability to be open to Spirit in others in a full way.  This grounding reflects the truth we know as Friends: we cannot change anything until we are open to what we ourselves need to change. Guided and inspired by what we learn, we consider: what is the work to do to heal our own spirits?

The Work

• To learn about each other and create a community of love and trust.
• To create a website that invites people to know our efforts and join us.
• To visit Meetings for fellowship and invitation to our work.
• Become a member of the group, either joining us for regular meetings and receiving minutes, or simply joining our email list.
• Visit the website and learn more.
• Travel to Meetings with us and engage with the work of listening, engagement, reflection, and action that might result from this time together.
• Engage with Friends doing similar work in other YMs, and plan with them a larger gathering with workshops, worship and fellowship.
