Meeting on Worship and Ministry

The Charge

Meeting on Worship and Ministry is the body within PYM specifically charged with the nurture of worship, ministry, and the spiritual life of the Yearly Meeting. It is comprised of the clerks of worship and ministry committees from monthly and quarterly meetings, and all Friends called to strengthen the life of the Spirit in our Yearly Meeting.

The Work

• As the name suggests, Meeting on Worship and Ministry is a meeting for worship with attention to the vitality of worship and ministry within the Yearly Meeting.
• Meeting on Worship and Ministry gathers twice a year, in the spring and fall.
• As worship itself is an essential part of our gatherings, it gives Friends an opportunity to receive the guidance of the Spirit as they seek to provide spiritual nurture for our meetings.  Sharing concerns, insights and encouragement in the Light, Friends receive strength for their labors at home.

The Opportunity

• Join MWM at both its spring and fall gatherings. The most recent gathering took place at Birmingham Friends Meeting on October 22, 2011.
• Join the Planning Group, which works to ensure the gatherings happen regularly and in a way that is responsive to the movement of the Spirit.
• Encourage the clerks of your  worship and ministry committee, and any Friend with a spirit-led concern for the progress of Truth in your Meeting, to attend our gatherings.
