Library Services Working Group

The Charge

The LSG brings together all those who share a passion for the ministry of books. It is a calling that involves both outreach and education.  We guide the work of those who volunteer at the PYM Library by providing trainings, tasks and technical leadership on library operations. This group includes both hands-on superusers and visionaries to keep the PYM Library on track with supporting the various needs Friends have for books and related information.

The Work

• Re-focused the core mission of the PYM Library in the course of planning its new space on the balcony.
• Aided adjustment to PYM's new fiscal realities; providing clearness for staff reductions, recruiting interns & volunteers.
• Helped redesign the library webpage, and launch a new version of the library catalog.

The Opportunity

• Working group members help train volunteers, as well as find new ways to help PYM members learn about the religious education materials the Library has.
• Working group members also plan and coordinate special events such as workshops for First Day School teachers or Monthly Meeting library committees that we deliver both face to face and via webinar.
