The Charge
The Children’s Spiritual Life Committee works with PYM staff to provide resources and programs for children and the adults working with them in our yearly meeting community. Though monthly meeting religious education is a first priority, our work makes space for families and their spiritual needs as well as considering how children can be part of our multigenerational communities and their work.
Our work includes supporting other working groups, such as the Faith & Play Working Group and the Children’s Sessions Planning Group which plans for residential sessions in the summer.

The Work

Our work includes meeting as a committee four to five times a year for half a day, and frequent communication with PYM staff, the other working groups we support, parents, teachers, and religious education clerks.
The Opportunity
FAP! Friends are encouraged to volunteer to work with children's programs as Friendly Adult Presences (FAPs)! These are wonderful opportunities to connect with others interested in children's spiritual lives, and the children who are the future of the Society of Friends.
JIM! Bring a child (or a carload of them!) to Junior Interim Meeting. Once a month, the children of the yearly meeting gather in community to work on the Children’s Priority. They play, they serve, they learn -- they are Friends together.
