The Charge

We are blessed with the visioning of planning a spiritually rich, joyful, and safe program for the children of the Yearly Meeting during Summer Sessions.

The Work

  • We met three times throughout the year, with the Children’s Sessions Coordinator and the Children’s Religious Life Coordinator to plan for Summer Sessions, including developing program andplanning for support of volunteers.
  • We recruited and secured age group coordinators and support staff to work with the children at Summer Sessions.  This year we  were successful in identifying a higher percentage of Friends who would serve in Children’s Sessions for the whole week, offering solidity to the program.
  • Provided an orientation/retreat prior to sessions for volunteers who will be leading the groups.
  • Join us! A desire to encourage and nurture children on their spiritual journey is all that is required.   Participate in three planning group meetings (place/times vary depending upon members location and availability); commit 1-2 hours of work between meetings. Childcare and refreshments are provided during meetings.
  • Join the children’s spiritual community as a group leader or support staff at Summer Sessions.
