Fundraising for Renovation

Burlington Quarter seeks funds to support the renovation of Mansfield Meetinghouse. Donations are welcomed.

Mansfield Friends is a new Preparative Meeting now being planned under the care of Burlington Quarter in central New Jersey. It's home will be the Mansfield Meetinghouse, located on Highway 206 one mile north of Columbus, in the Historic Village of Mansfield.

The term Preparative indicates that this will be a new Meeting not yet ready to stand alone administratively - and so is offered the help and support of well-established Meetings such as the Burlington Quarter and individual Monthly Meetings within our Quarter.

The Mansfield Meetinghouse has not had an active congregatrion in recent years. It was built in 1812, replacing older wooden meetinghouse, the most recent of which still sits nearby. The building has undergone extensive renovations, and should be ready for our use by the winter of 2007-2008.

We look forward to sharing worship and fellowship in the manner of Friends at Mansfield!

    When Will We Meet?

    Friends from a number of other Meetings within Burlington Quarter are excited about the possibility of adding non-traditional times for Meetings for Worship to the Mansfield schedule. Even if there are not enough Friend in our home Meetings to support Worship at a particular additional time, early - late - midweek - a common Meeting at Mansfield could draw Friends from throughout the Quarter at that time. How will way open?

    While the Mansfield Meetinghouse is not yet ready - we are looking ahead to the winter of 2006-2007 when we can gather there for Worship. Some of the times we are considering for weekly worship are:

    Monday 12 noon Seniors Meeting for Worship, Sandwich and Coffee Lunch Provided.

    Wednesday 7 pm Women's Meeting for Worship followed by Soup 'n Sandwich

    Thursday 6 pm Family Meeting with Library Program for Children, and Simple Supper

    Friday 7 pm Singles and Young Adults Meeting for Worship followed by Coffeehouse.

    Saturdays at 5 pm Meeting for Worship

    Sunday 7 am - Early Risers Meeting for Worship; 11 am Mid-Day Meeting for Worship
