The Middle School Friends one-night experiment (with parents!)

Middle School Friends

This coming September we will be opening the Middle School Friends 2014-2015 school year with an exciting new experiment. We’ll be coming together, Middle School Friends and parents, for a Saturday evening potluck event. After dinner, the parents will say goodbye to their Middle schoolers (until Sunday afternoon) and head over to Chestnut Hill Monthly Meeting for a viewing of the amazing Turrell Skyspace!

Middle Schoolers will stay overnight at either Greene street or Germantown Monthly Meetings (unconfirmed for now) and focus on getting to know each other and introducing the theme of the year: Quaker History! This new format is designed with the hope that this will be an easy gathering for rising 6th graders and folks who haven’t participated frequently in the past to be introduced to the community. While the Middle School Friends evening will be designed around getting know new people, there will be plenty of time for old friends to reconnect after the long post-sessions break.

let me know what you think, or stay tuned for more information about this exciting new event!
